The Savanur House

Project details

The Savanur House

On the hillock, in the midst of Mango orchard stands the “Savanur House”. The collaboration of Colonial architecture and the traditional Kerala architecture makes the house unique in itself.

The timber roof, slightly carved gables, traditional intricate carved wooden columns and the Charupadi (i.e. traditional Kerala railing design) gives a sense of Traditional Kerala architecture, whereas the colors used in interior as well as exterior gives a sense of Colonial architecture.

The interior spaces are composed of a combination of white wall, cotto colored tiles and timber ceiling. The dining area is a semi-open space abutting the swimming pool to give a feel of openness and informality.
